Why Can't You Put Your Phone Aside?

Did you ever feel like not being able to stop using your phones even if you have the strong desire to keep it aside? Did you ever have a mild level of panic whenever you misplaced or were not able to find your phone for some time? Did you tend to look into the phone whenever you heard a notification beep?
If your answer to these questions is “yes”, there is nothing to wonder. It is common among everyone with smartphones these days. In the first place itself, these apps are designed to keep users using the apps ‘unlimitedly’. Consciously or unconsciously, smartphones and social media platforms lead us to a ludic loop, where there is no exit from that situation. In an interview given at Stanford University, former Vice President of User Growth at Facebook, Chamath Palihapitiya had admitted it- “I feel tremendous guilt. The short-term, dopamine-driven feedback loops that we have created are destroying how society works”.
Most of the social media platforms are earning their revenues using their consumers.
